JOB DESCRIPTION – Logistics supply chain jobs are directly accountable for providing service to the retail stores by planning and coordinating the process of getting merchandise from the vendor into the stores.  Supply chain director jobs also contain these primary responsibilities:

• Oversees efficient processing of products and keeps inventory full
• Works with store departments to resolve problems and ensure good service
• Train and develop associates in assigned areas within the supply chain process
• Schedule and manage worker hours to make sure work is done in a timely manner
• Manage and oversee workflow to meet units per hour, cost per unit, and level of service demands

JOB REQUIREMENTS – A college degree is NOT required to land a job like this, but you must have some years in the retail sector to have the basic experience needed to do a good job.  You must also be very personable and able to be a go getter.  Flexibility in work hours is also a must as shipments will be coming in at all kinds of random times, and when the shipment comes, there must be workers ready to tackle the task at hand. 

SALARY – Since you are a boss, manager, and so much rides on you, the pay scale is very rewarding.  Pay starts from $20-$30 dollars an hour and comes with full benefits which include health, dental, and retirement options such as a 401K and IRA accounts.  Not only do you get paid a salary wage, but there are also bonus commissions based on the amount of product that is brought into the stores and how well it sells.  That is why this job takes so much experience, you must know what sells well and what does not.  It is your job to stock the stores with merchandise that customers actually want and that will continue to sell in the stores.
